After spending the summer in my beautiful hometown, I made the move back down to Vancouver in September to continue growing in the design and trade community, and enjoy a quicker pace of life. I lucked out and found a great apartment in the heart of downtown, a location I have coveted for years.

Something I loved about my university program was the projects we were given in studio classes. Essentially, you are given a fictional design client where you have to space plan, source materials and furnishings, and design a home or space for your client.

I know I am not alone in the experience of finding oneself adrift after the Covid pandemic turned our world on its head. In March of 2020, I found myself packing up my Vancouver apartment, leaving my school and life in the city behind to move back into my mom’s house in my hometown of Pender Harbour.
